从事眼科学工作三十余年，是我国最早开展自动视野计在青光眼视功能评价应用和眼内窥镜手术的专家之一，在青光眼的早期诊治、难治性青光眼的手术治疗、先天性青光眼诊治等方面有丰富经验，目前已完成近万例青光眼手术。主要研究方向包括青光眼视功能检测和应用、新抗瘢痕化药物转化研究、青光眼发病机理研究以及弱视的双眼视觉机制研究。近年来主持国家自然科学基金、卫生部临床重点专科项目、广东省自然科学基金团队项目等多项研究课题。已发表学术论文130余篇，其中第一作者和通讯作者SCI收录（BMJ、Current Biology、Ophthalmology、IOVS、AJO、Neurotherapeutic、Drug Delivery等）论文90篇。

With over 30 years of experience in ophthalmology, he is one of the earliest experts in China to apply automated perimeters for evaluating visual function in glaucoma and to perform endoscopic eye surgeries. He possesses extensive experience in the early diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, surgical management of refractory glaucoma, and the diagnosis and treatment of congenital glaucoma, having completed nearly 10,000 glaucoma surgeries. His main research interests encompass visual function assessment and applications in glaucoma, translational research on new anti-scarring drugs, studies on the pathogenesis of glaucoma, and mechanisms of binocular vision in amblyopia. In recent years, his has led various research projects, including grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, key clinical specialty projects from the Ministry of Health, and team projects funded by the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province. He has published over 130 academic papers, including 90 as the first or corresponding author in SCI-indexed journals such as BMJ, Current Biology, Ophthalmology, IOVS, AJO, Neurotherapeutic, Drug Delivery, among others.
